What stays on your device

Your game count, win rate, streak, average guesses, and guess distribution are stored in your browser's local storage. They are not sent to FlagCake. You can remove them with the Reset statistics button or by clearing this site's browser data.

Cloudflare Web Analytics

FlagCake uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to measure visits and technical performance, such as page loading and responsiveness. Cloudflare automatically adds its analytics beacon when pages are delivered. The measurement may include the page viewed, referrer, browser or device information, and performance timings.

Cloudflare states that this beacon does not use cookies, read local storage, or store personal information. As with any web request, Cloudflare receives the connection's IP address; its Web Analytics documentation says that the address is discarded at the nearest Cloudflare data center and is not stored in the analytics service. You can learn more in Cloudflare's Web Analytics documentation.

Anonymous gameplay events

FlagCake sends a first-party event to /api/event when a round starts, a round finishes, or you successfully share or copy a result. The event may contain the selected mode, win or loss, number of attempts, approximate round duration, and whether the native share menu or clipboard fallback was used.

These events do not include your guesses, the mystery country, local statistics, clipboard contents, an account, cookies, or a unique user identifier. FlagCake immediately combines each event into daily counters in Cloudflare D1; it does not keep a row for an individual play. Aggregate counters may be retained for long-term comparisons and are used to understand where players stop and whether sharing works.

Hosting and security

The website, country data, and flag images are delivered through Cloudflare. Cloudflare may process standard request information for content delivery, security, abuse prevention, and operational logs. FlagCake does not include advertising or third-party sign-in.

Clipboard access

When you press Share result, FlagCake first uses your device's native share menu when available. Otherwise, it writes a text summary to your clipboard. It never reads existing clipboard contents.
